Eric Zener’s mixed media works begin with imagery that pervades his oil paintings, water. Whether it be a figure suspended in a metaphorical womb, a sociological study of crowds at the beach, water is the focus.To create the lucidity of these images, Zener starts with a photo transfer, he builds the mixed media works in layers, using processes that create depth and buoyancy. They are an exploration both in the process of creating and in the understanding of a deeper need to be transformed, and rejuvenated by the milieu.
